Quote:The Butler County Sheriff's Office has announced that pistol permits will be temporarily discontinued two weeks from this Friday.

Sheriff Mike Slupe says the LTC, or License-To-Carry, computer system has been upgraded in Harrisburg, and that the stoppage would allow the county to be compliant with the new system, which affects all 67 counties in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Slupe said that permit issuance will resume on Wednesday, September 1st at 8:30am.

How many government employees does it take to install a new computer? Smile

Well, when you think about it, you have to have some union specialist come in for each phase of the job. Think how long that will take! Special scheduling, mandatory break times...

And then you gotta test it.

They are saying it will take 2 weeks...

They are supposed to stop entering new apps one week before implementation....so i guess the are using one week for training purposes?

see page 5-9 of the attached PDF for scheduling....

Two weeks does seem like a long time to get the system up and running.
