Downtime info
Just and FYI: Just after midnight I started getting 404 not found errors on a couple areas of the forum. Gave up trying, went to bed, woke up and couldn't get back to sleep at 3am and found the entire domain was not found.

OMG, you mean you don't take the board offline in the middle of the day during prime posting hours for maintenance?????? *faints* I figured the total outtage was something on the hosts end, but wanted to post about both anyway just in case you didn't know.

RE: Downtime info
I get this error every once in a while.
MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.

SQL Error:
1040 - Too many connections
Query:
[READ] Unable to connect to MySQL server

That error actually explains itself. Too many simultaneous attempts to connect to the MySQL server caused the MyBB software to be told it couldn't connect.

The DB might be on a shared server with another site maxing out the permitted connections, or if its a dedicated DB server it may need to have its max allowed connections increased.

I've sqeaked at them about it before, might have even posted it during beta testing. Not much to be done about it unless it becomes extremely common.

it's probably on a shared box...I got that for an entire day once on my site. I was furious because I made money by ad clicks and if my site was down, people couldn't view it and I couldn't get ad clicks thus decreasing my coinage....
