So I guess we all have figured out that Obama as President is gonna try to grab guns, ban guns, raise taxes on guns and ammo and basically do everything he can to get rid of guns in this country.

According to the NRA there are almost 50 million gun owners in this country. Yet less than 4 million are members of the NRA, Even less for the Second Amendment Foundation. I am a member of both. I don't think either one is perfect.... But you know what, they are the ones who are in Washington, DC, defending our right to 'keep and bear arms" for us. If your not a member I urge you to join. I now the NRA has a 'election year' special where membership is discounted to $25,

I think it's time both the NRA and the Second Amendment Foundation have at least a 10 million membership support. Please join one if not both, the more members that they have the easier it will be for them to get our elected officials to listen to them.

How far will you go to defend your gun rights? How much is your ability to defend the lives of your self and family worth?

We can't afford to bury our heads in the sand and think they'll never be able to take our guns

Sure, the NRA will defend your rights.

So long as all you want to keep is your bolt action deer slayers.
You mean high powered sniper rifles?

The NRA was started by hunters, expanded into competitive aspects of rifles, then into competitive handgun, and more recently, defensive handgun. Just as OCDO doesn't involve itself with hunting, the NRA doesn't involve itself with firearms issues outside its areas of concern. That doesn't make them useless or any other such negative description you come up with, it just means they involve themself with specific areas of 2A rights rather than becoming a giant bloated blob that can't get anything accomplished because its spread out too thin.

If you and the thousands of other people who feel the NRA isn't doing enough honestly care as much as you make it seem you do, join the NRA and convince them to work for what you want them to do, or better yet, start your own organization that focuses on areas the NRA doesnt. I'm already a member of the NRA, GOA, JPFO, and a few other organizations and would have no problem joining others that support areas of my 2A rights that the ones im in don't cover or that will reinforce their efforts.

So now you get to make a decision.

Join the NRA, convince others to join, and all of you write letters and make phone calls to get the NRA to work on other 2A issues,

Start an organization to work on other 2A issues that the NRA doesn't.
I'm a member of the NRA. My renewal is up soon, though..
That's why I am a member of the Second Amendment Foundation as well.
